How Token Usage Works
Tokens per word (GPT-4.1 Nano): Input ≈ 0.75 tokens/word, Output ≈ 1.5 tokens/word
Nano/Mini models: ~1x tokens (fastest, great for drafts)
GPT-4.1 & GPT-4o: ~3-5x tokens (balanced, ideal for rewrites)
o-series & Pro: ~10-20x tokens (deepest reasoning, complex narratives)
Example: 1,000 words with GPT-4.1 Nano ≈ 1,500 tokens. Same request with o1 Pro ≈ 30,000 tokens.
